Under the direction of the Director, the CADD Operator I performs advanced skilled drafting work and calculations in the preparation of architectural, electronic and electrical technical drawings, general drafting and other engineering drawings.
An employee in this class supports its own and other departments and offices through the development of designs, plans and other drawings using computer assisted design and drafting programs, and other related electronic hardware. Work must be accurate and is checked in process and upon completion for adherence to instruction and compliance to all applicable codes and regulations.
Graduation from college preferred, with technical or trade school drafting program preferred, with significant course work in architectural and technical design, detailing ad drafting, and Computer Assisted Drafting and Design; three (3) years' experience in technical drafting, under supervision of a licensed professional; two (2) years' experience in architectural drafting under supervision of licensed professional, and three years' experience (concurrent with other experiences) in computer Assisted Drafting and Design, preferably in AutoCAD Version 13 or greater.
Possession of an appropriate and valid Maryland Motor Vehicle Operator's License with driving record indicating five (5) or fewer current points of which no more than three (3) shall have been accumulated as a result of traffic violations occurring while operating a Board of Education vehicle (see Prince George's County Public Schools' Bulletin P-1-88 dated July 21, 1987).
