Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Copier Specialist, the Copier Services Technician will monitor and maintain the copier and printing devices throughout the school system.  The work is performed in accordance with established practices, procedures and work methods. Constant attention to detail and review of the work in progress is required to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Work is performed under general supervision of the Copier Specialist and the Supervisor of Print and Mail Production. Work is reviewed through conferences and observation of results achieved.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors the network for copier and printer connectivity;
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues with devices; resolves help desk tickets;
  • Maintains and updates supplied inventory; delivers supplies to schools and offices as needed;
  • Reviews reports to determine training needs; trains school staff on devices;
  • Supports the copier deployment schedule for schools and administrative offices;
  • Updates daily activity spreadsheet and site reports;
  • Conducts weekly implementation status report meetings;
  • Conducts on-site inspections both prior to and after delivery and installation of copiers;
  • Assist with the maintenance of and assignment of fax numbers throughout the school system; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of copiers from desktop to production models, including parts and maintenance;
  • Strong trouble-shooting and problem solving skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential to this position;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Experience using Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel;
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed and attentive to detail; and
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under pressure.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Completion of a standard high school diploma or equivalency required.  A minimum of five (5) years in the copier/printer field, or a closely related field which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certification:

None required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 25 lbs.
