Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Technology Applications, the Data Warehouse Developer II will be responsible for developing and implementing queries as a Data Warehouse Developer. The work involves moderate to full-range tasks as assigned by the supervisor in the analysis, design/development and testing of full range of data warehouse activities. The incumbent will be responsible for data warehouse reporting tools and analysis; applications developed must adhere to specified requirements which satisfy end-user needs and expectations, and meet the objectives of PGCPS.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs full Data Warehouse life-cycle systems Implementation, development and support;
- Works with clients to understand requirements, GAP Analysis and translate to appropriate technical solution and Documentation;
- Develops and tests programs using SQL, PL-SQL and SQL-Loader for database applications;
- Develops and generate standard Operational Reports (ORS) and ad hoc reporting capabilities from new and existing data sources in a Data Warehouse environment;
- Creates and runs reports using Oracle Discoverer;
- Performs full Oracle BI Apps development with OBIEE, ETL Informatica/ODI and DAC;
- Performs a wide variety of analysis including comparisons, trending and what-if analysis;
- Assists with and/or conducts training programs for analysts/developers, consultants and users;
- Updates technical skills and knowledge through continuous self-study, self-discovery, tutorials, and classes; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in Oracle (11i/10g) relational database system, SQL, PL/SQL, SQL*Loader, SQL Plus and other Oracle Utilities;
- Experience in at least one reporting/OLAP tool e.g. OBIEE 11g/10g, Oracle Express, Cognos;
- At least one implementation experience on Oracle BI Apps/Analytics which includes Financial Analytics, HR Analytics or Procurement and Spend Analytics as Oracle EBS 11i/R12 Source
- Expertise in Oracle BI Apps (OBIA) toolset which includes OBIEE 11g/10g, ETL-Informatica or Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and DAC;
- Experience in OBIA OOB Prebuilt Reports and Dashboards, RPD and Security model;
- Experience in data modeling/analysis and life-cycle development methodology;
- Manage unit, system and integration testing for accuracy and performance;
- Working knowledge of Data Warehousing or Business Intelligence (BI);
- Knowledge of Oracle Designer/2000 or other data modeling tools;
- Ability to implement business rules using Oracle procedures, functions and triggers;
- The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment;
- Team player and the ability to interact well with others;
- Strong RPD Development/Dashboard/Report Development Skills;
- Ability to write interfaces between third party systems and Oracle ERP and SchoolMax; and
- Good communications skills to express business and technical concepts.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related field with three to five years of proven record of success as a Oracle Data Warehouse Developer; preferred candidates will have Oracle BI Suite – Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Oracle Discoverer, Performance Management and Business Process Analysis.
