Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Employee Experience Officer is responsible for developing and implementing systemic initiatives and programs in support of enhancing employee satisfaction and engagement. The incumbent of this position will conduct surveys, design programs, facilitate communication, and coordinate recognition and retention initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture. The Employee Experience Officer will work closely with district leaders to identify areas for improvement and measure the effectiveness of engagement efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements comprehensive employee engagement plans aligned with organizational goals, including initiatives for recognition, retention and career development;
- Collaborates with managers and team leaders to provide coaching and guidance on best practices for employee engagement;
- Creates and manages various employee engagement programs, such as team building activities, social events, learning and development opportunities, and recognition programs;
- Conducts regular surveys and feedback sessions to gauge satisfaction and engagement levels, identify areas of concern, and track engagement trends;
- Promotes open communication channels, disseminates important information and updates, and serves as an advocate for employee needs and concerns;
- Analyzes employee engagement data to identify patterns and trends, measures the impact of initiatives, and presents findings to stakeholders;
- Fosters a positive and inclusive workplace culture by promoting the mission and vision, enhancing employee engagement, and addressing concerns proactively;
- Keeps abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in employee engagement to continuously improve strategies; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Fully informed and knowledgeable of employee engagement and retention issues in K-12 organizations;
- Use of appropriate written, verbal or electronic communication formats to disseminate information;
- Proficient in a variety of technologies for data collection and reporting (i.e., social media, applicant tracking systems, Microsoft Office suite and internet);
- Project management skills to plan and execute engagement initiatives effectively;
- Ability to make data driven decisions; strong analytical skills that inform problem solving and decision making capacity;
- Ability to communicate effectively and convey reliable accurate information so that the recipient clearly understands its intent;
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization;
- Ability to analyze issues, shift priorities and cope with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment; and
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, employees, outside agencies and the general public.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, human resources, organizational development or a closely related field required. A minimum of five (5) years of successful experience driving innovation in support of employee engagement and retention. Previous experience in a public school system is preferred.
Certification:
None required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversees and provides guidance to personnel as needed.
