Under direction of the supervisor, the Energy Management Building Automation Technician performs technical control work. Work of the class involves maintaining and operating automated energy monitoring and control system for controlling heating and cooling of schools and other facilities. Ensures efficient operation and integrity of the Energy Management System; provides support to users; dispatches the work of skilled maintenance workers and contractors; and performs related work as required. The incumbent of this position monitors operation of system and makes changes and corrections as necessary to maintain desired levels by programming the automated equipment. The Energy Management Building Automation Technician may also assist in conducting energy audits; surveys of buildings and develops procedures for improving energy management.
High school diploma required, supplemented by college or technical school course work and seminars in the computer field with at least three (3) years of progressive experience in systems analysis for facilities maintenance, construction projects and data analysis; or any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Possession of an appropriate and valid Maryland Motor Vehicle Operator’s License with driving record indicating five (5) or fewer current points of which no more than three (3) shall have been accumulated as a result of traffic violations occurring while operating a Board of Education vehicle.
