Under the direction of the Director of Equity, Diversity and Belonging, the Equity Coach willbe responsible for supporting operations related to systemic equity professional learning for all stakeholders of Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS). The incumbent of this position is charged with working with central offices and school leaders on programs to support the PGCPS Equity Plan. The Equity Coach will assist with the design, coordination and implementation of programs, policies and practices aimed at addressing the systemic disparities existing in the delivery of services from central offices to schools. The incumbent of this position will facilitate leadership development and support centered around awareness and understanding in the use of an equity lens.
Supports the implementation of the PGCPS Equity Plan through the development of specific objectives and strategies and implements the processes and procedures for the evaluation of systemic equity programming;
Provides coordination and facilitation of best practices, leadership development and ongoing coaching for central offices and school leaders;
Researches and provides information and guidance regarding a range of effective and innovative strategies targeted at addressing systemic disparities in the delivery of services from central offices to schools;
Serves as a liaison between central offices and schools and an advocate for educational equity;collaborates with cross-departmental teams and stakeholders to create equitable opportunities targeted at narrowing achievement and opportunity gaps;
Supports the execution of the recommendations of the PGCPS Equity Plan; develops clear action steps, creates reports and tracks metrics related to implementation of recommendations;
Plans, monitors and sustains systemic professional learning programs which promote equitable educational practices and the development of school leaders;
Recommends strategies to ensure that central offices and school leaders are able to build a culture of equity and excellence; promotes excellence and continuous improvement consistent with the PGCPS Equity Plan;
Leads, facilitates and develops content and presentations for systemic meetings which focus on the objectives of the PGCPS Equity Plan; and
Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to promote equity, excellence and continuous improvement consistent with school division goals;
Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to intuitively present and document ideas and concepts to staff, management and stakeholders at all levels;
Ability to provide leadership, guidance, training and support to internal and external partners in the development and delivery of equity programs; ability to develop work plans and training materials; and
Demonstrated computer/educational technology skills.
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, public administration, ethics studies or a closely related field required. A minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience, and five (5) years working in a school-based context strongly preferred, and a minimum three (3) years leading, supervising, and/or coaching adults strongly preferred.
Maryland Advanced Professional Certificate, with Administrator I endorsement required; Administrator II preferred.
May oversee and provide guidance to assigned staff.
