Position Summary:

Under the technical direction of the IT Supervisor, the incumbent of this position provides assistance to schools and administration to configure computer and peripheral technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides assistance to schools and administration to configure computer and peripheral technology;

Provides pricing information and draft purchase requisitions for computer technology and related peripherals;

Keeps an updated list of technology to address the school systems' needs and associated prices;

Assists in reviewing all technology acquisition requisitions and assisting in the approval process for the school system;

Assists as needed, with newly acquired technology integration and reestablishing integration of moved technologies;

Assists the purchasers with establishing a connection to network services, e-mail, Internet access and to assist with applications, installations, configurations; and

Troubleshoots and recommends fixes for work station problems.

Qualifications:

Considerable experience with operating and building databases; good experience with Desktop computers and peripheral;

Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel;

Demonstrated written and oral communication skills; and

Effective human relation skills.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Minimum A.A. Degree in Computer Technology, Business Applications or a related field with three (3) years; of experience in computer hardware procurement; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Certification:

None Required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct supervisory responsibilities.
