Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Technology Operations, the incumbent of this position is responsible for the design, configuration and management of the email systems including Google Apps & MS Exchange and directory services including Active Directory (AD) & Oracle Internet Directory (OID); supports Oracle Identity and Access Management (OIAM) administration. Additionally, from time to time, this position provides backup application security support for Oracle E-Business Suite, Harris SchoolMAX Student Information System and Enterprise Data Warehouse;
The work involves supporting all the staff, students and contractors in a small team environment. This incumbent is responsible for supporting various security audits and investigation resulting from eDiscovery and Freedom of Information Act requests. The position requires excellent communication skills, ability to work in teams, and extensive hands-on experience using administering Google Apps, MS Exchange, AD, OIAM for administration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans and manages in-house design projects relative to Active Directory, Email services, wireless email services and spam filtering software
- Manages Google Apps implementation, security and authentication for all staff and students
- Manages various Google Apps services implemented, including but not limited to, Gmail, Google+, Calendar, Drive & Docs, Groups and Sites; Administer users and organizations; configures/maintains security and authentication; provide support for mobile access to Google Apps;
- Supports Active Directory administration, managing organizations, groups and users;
- Supports initiatives including pilots and systemic rollout of mobile computing devices (iOS, Android & Windows based);
- Provides escalated support to IT Technicians, technology liaisons, Help Desk, and end-users;
- Performs IT security investigations as requested by the Office of General Council, Internal Audit, Labor Relations, Human Resources or other internal/external entities authorized by Chief Information Officer;
- Creates and provides reports for periodic statutory audits and investigation; responds to inquiries involving systems access and email communication;
- Uses Oracle Identity Management (OIM) to provision and manage end-user accounts;
- Documents problems and/or changes that hamper identity and email services management and provides incident reports to management;
- Works with outside vendors to ensure the quality of delivered configurations;
- Notifies management of any instances of inadequate/inappropriate service and methods of operation, security breaches, poor workmanship, or improper conduct or behavior, which may be pertinent to identity and email services administration;
- Escalates incidents to appropriate vendors and/or internal personnel in accordance with support team standards;
- Meets with the system administration team to share information; provides updates and participates in the planning and implementation of future projects;
- Coordinates with operations and network support teams on hardware/platform and backup/recovery support;
- Provides 24/7 on call support for the supported enterprise systems and responds to emergency situations in an effective and efficient manner; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in administering very large Google Apps environments required;
- Hands-on experience using Oracle Identity & Access Management suite to administer user accounts required;
- Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server administration in a large scale network environment, MS Exchange and Active Directory management & troubleshooting required; and
- Very good knowledge of networking and experience troubleshooting various network connectivity problems is highly desirable.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with at least 5 years of technical experience involving Windows domain administration, Directory & Email administration; Oracle Identity & Access Management; or any equivalent combination of demonstrated experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Certification:
Microsoft Certified System Engineer - preferred.
Oracle Identity Manager 11g Certified Implementation Specialist - preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
