Under the direction of the Assistant Director, the Instructional Supervisor will be responsible for providing support to all teachers in the area of dance curriculum, instruction, and classroom management for Prince George’s County Public Schools. The Instructional Supervisor will work on the development, coordination and implementation of all countywide dance programs. The responsibilities of this position include collaboration for program planning and design, cross-curricular collaboration and development of best practices, budget development, and workshops for teachers and administration, development of curriculum and enrichment programs, coordination of field trips, and enrichment opportunities for teachers and students that support instruction. The Instructional Supervisor will assist in ensuring the programs are in compliance with federal, state and local mandates. In addition, the Instructional Supervisor will maintain high standards for students, staff and parent satisfaction within Prince George’s County Public Schools.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required; and minimum of five (5) years of successful dance teaching experience required.
Holds or is eligible for a valid professional license in Administrator I (historical) or Supervisor of Instruction, Assistant Principal, or Principal issued by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).
Assists in overseeing and providing guidance to the unit staff.
