Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Maintenance Technician - Recycling coordinates, administers, evaluates and supervises recycling and environmental programs as an integral part of the school systems solid waste management function. The incumbent of this position develops education and training materials; makes oral presentations to students and staff and other community groups to provide information regarding recycling programs; organizes and coordinates recycling activities; and maintains records to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. The Maintenance Technician develops bid documents to establish and manage contracts with vendors.
Graduation from high school or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Possession of an appropriate and valid Maryland Motor Vehicle Operator’s License with driving record indicating five (5) or fewer current points of which no more than three (3) shall have been accumulated as a result of traffic violations occurring while operating a Board of Education vehicle. (See Prince George’s County Public School’s Bulletin A-26-85 dated October 8, 1984.).
