Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director, the incumbent of this position provides systems development for the school district’s new ERP system.  The work involves moderate to full-range tasks as assigned by the supervisor in the analysis, design/development and testing of Oracle 11i applications and customizations across related functional areas and the development of conversion and system implementation plans that ensures software, developed and deployed to the production environment, adheres to specified requirements, satisfies end-user needs and expectations, and meets the objectives of PGCPS.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs, builds, and implements changes, extensions and enhancements to Oracle application program and reports according to software standards and conventions;
  • Lead a team of Oracle Developers and provide assistance to team members when required;
  • Reviews and debugs existing customizations and reports as necessary;
  • Meets with non-technical staff to define user requirements;
  • Assists with and/or conduct training programs for analysts/developers, consultants and users;
  • Coordinates development and maintenance of a test environment including procedures for migration to production environment;
  • Coordinates and supports interfaces to legacy systems as required;
  • Documents all procedures used in reports and customizations;
  • Updates technical skills and knowledge through continuous self-study, self-discovery, tutorials, and classes;
  • Troubleshoots programs and issues encountered by system users, suggesting resolutions, and resolves identified problems and issues; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  ·         Working knowledge of Oracle ERP financial technical foundation is necessary. This includes at least four Oracle modules technical knowledge in the following areas:1.    Oracle Financials (AP, GL, AR, FA, IP and Purchasing, Oracle Warehouse Management System, Order Management, iSupplier, PSB).

  • Working knowledge of Oracle Development tools such as:

1.            Developer 2000/6i (Forms and Reports);2.            SQL*plus, PL/SQL, ADI, SQL*loader;3.            Oracle Software Utilities;4.            Workflow and Alerts5.            Discoverer6.            APEX and Oracle Applications framework (OAF)7.            Custom Library (PLL) and;8.            SQL performance tuning.

  • SQL performance tuning. Working knowledge of third party Oracle development tools such as TOAD and SqlNavigator;
  • Ability to write interfaces between third party systems and Oracle ERP;
  • Ability to lead a team of Oracle developers;
  • Working experience with Personalization’s and customizations using OA Framework;
  • Working experience with Forms Personalization’s;
  • Working experience with XML (BI) Publisher;
  • Implementation and Support of HR Position Control;
  • Provide ERP User support, research and resolve related user issues promptly; and
  • Good communications skills to express Business and technical concepts.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or a proven record of success as an Oracle Developer with six (6) years of Oracle ERP application development experience required with degree.
