Under the direction of the Supervisor of Retirement and Other Benefits, this position performs diverse and complex administrative duties to support the employee benefits function within the Office of Benefits Administration. The Retirement Coordinator will provide administrative support to various benefit functions, such as, but not limited to serve as the liaison for employees wishing to retire from the Maryland State Retirement System. The incumbent will also assist with pre-retirement conferences and act as a liaison with the third party administrator for tax shelter annuities.
Graduation from high school with a minimum of one year of progressively responsible experience in benefits and retirement coordination. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
The ability to obtain Retirement Coordinator Certification designation within 6 months of employment.
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
