Performs monitoring, communication and clerical work involved in the operation of a computerized central alarm station. The incumbent of this position is responsible for an assigned tour of duty monitoring school burglar alarm systems, fire alarm systems and maintaining communication with maintenance and plant operation personnel, and county police and fire departments. Work includes maintaining logs of activities, and general record keeping. Incumbent works under general supervision of the Supervisor of Security Systems. Work is reviewed through appraisal of day-to-day effectiveness. This position requires evening and midnight hours.
High school graduate with some training and experience in basic radio communication activities and with some clerical and report writing experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
