Under general supervision, has responsibility for work performed by Shop Stores Clerks assigned to an automotive issue point as well as performing manual and clerical work as required.
The incumbent of this position is located at an automotive issue point containing a wide variety of repair parts and related supplies and is directly responsible for the receipt, storage and issuance of automotive repair parts and related supplies, and oversees the day-to-day activity of employees assigned to the issue point. The work involves not only the same duties assigned and performed by Shop Stores Clerks, but the additional responsibility for the efficient operation and security of the site to which assigned. These duties are performed in accordance with the established policies and procedures.
Automotive or maintenance stockroom experience, including clerical work, use of reference publications, and completion of a standard high school course; or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Possession of an appropriate and valid Maryland Motor Vehicle Operator’s License with a driving record indicating five (5) or fewer points, of which no more than three (3) shall have been accumulated as a result of traffic violations occurring while operating a Board of Education vehicle.
Oversees the work performed by Shop Stores Clerks.

While performing duties of this job, the employee must have the strength and dexterity to perform all required tasks including the ability to climb a 40' vertical ladder, work from scaffolding and a bucket truck, the ability to lift and carry a minimum of 80 lbs., work in cramped interior spaces, and the ability to do extensive walking, bending, stooping, crawling and kneeling in the course of completing daily work assignments. The employee is required to maintain sustained physical effort and some exposure to dust, dirt, chemical solutions, solvents, odors, and adverse weather conditions.
