Position Summary:

The Treasury Clerk I position performs clerical tasks in the maintenance of daily treasury operations including controls, verification, preparation, distribution, reports, computer data entry, invoicing and collection, and any other transactions affecting treasury operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Disbursing and distributing payroll checks;
  • Rerouting checks as required and sorting checks by location for distribution;
  • Input direct deposit enrollment and change information into Oracle computer database;
  • Respond to employee telephone inquiries and prepare month-end reconciliation report;
  • Assist in efforts to increase employee enrollment in direct deposit;
  • Prepare process, distribute and collect non-active employee wage overpayment and external customer invoices;
  • Maintain open and closed invoice files and schedules;
  • Assists with reconciliation of active and non-active invoices to the aging report;
  • Review daily receipt vouchers and prepare checks for deposit;
  • Post ACHs/Wires that were transmitted via SunTrust Online Treasury Manager into Oracle;
  • Order office supplies through Oracle;
  • Opening and sorting mail; and
  • Serve as back-up to the Treasury Clerk II.

Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of clerical-accounting practices;
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Good organization skills;
  • Ability to maintain accurate financial reports and records;
  • Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public;
  • Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions;
  • Ability to conduct tasks with minimum supervision; and
  • Working knowledge of Oracle ERP functionality preferred, but not required.  

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

High school diploma required with considerable experience in varied office and clerical tasks of an accounting or treasury nature. 

 

Certification:

None required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 25 lbs.
