To accurately report the financial position and results of business activities for Prince George’s County Public Schools to various constituencies — including legislators, the Board of Education, government agencies, auditors, creditors, grantors, donors, and others who may have a vested interest in the financial health of the School System. This includes a responsibility to coordinate and direct all financial transactions recorded in the accounting system, and requires that we are service-oriented relative to the needs of schools and offices while assuring that all transactions adhere to Board policies and procedures, generally accepted accounting principles, and rules established by authoritative governing bodies.
