Resident Teachers must meet all PGCPS and MSDE program requirements to remain in good standing and successfully complete the program. Requirements include holding a bachelor’s degree, meeting required basic skills and content assessment criteria, successfully completing Pre-Employment Training, participating in required coursework and professional learning, maintaining satisfactory academic and employment performance, completing mentoring and internship requirements, and successfully completing required certification assessments, i.e., Praxis Content assessment(s) and successfully completing the edTPA. Residents are also expected to meet all attendance, documentation, evaluation, and program participation expectations throughout the residency.
