Dear Capitol Heights Elementary School Community,
With great pride and enthusiasm, I write this letter to our CHES school community. Welcome to the 2022- 2023 school year! I am truly privileged to continue working alongside Ms. Lattimore and the rest of our staff as the Academic Dean at CHES. I am a firm believer in a strong home-school connection, and by working together, we will continue providing our students with a truly enriching school experience.
I started working at CHES in 2013 as the Kindergarten and 1st-grade math and science dual-language teacher. During this time, I provided my students with appealing activities to engage them and challenge them in learning. At the same, I inspired students to become world leaders and more conscious of the world we live in. Then, from 2019-2022 I had the opportunity to be the dual-language program coordinator in our school. As the coordinator, I collaborated with the teachers with planning and provided resources to ensure effective instruction. I also participated in parental engagement activities and academic programs after school. I enjoy the challenges of education and working with teachers, parents, and students.
The partnership between home and school should inspire confidence in students to use their powers to shape their future and the future of our community and world. During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide our students with the best opportunities so that ALL students have a variety of opportunities to succeed! As academic dean, my door is always open, and I welcome your conversation and collaboration throughout this year. I look forward to celebrating our collective successes during the 2022-2023 school year.
