Welcome Letter

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! We are thrilled to welcome back our CCMS Cougars for another exciting academic year! Please take a moment to watch and listen to the greetings of our new Principal of CCMS, and join him in extending a warm welcome to all of you.

The first day of school for all students is Monday, August 28th. CCMS will have a “New Student” Orientation on Friday, August 25th, for students that are “NEW” to Charles Carroll MS.  The day will be from 8:30 am - 11:30 am. Additional information and details will be posted to the Charles Carroll MS school website by Monday, August 21st:

Back-to-School Night will be on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 6 - 8 pm. Back-to-School Night will be held in person at CCMS. More information will be provided on the school website, and publications sent home in the coming weeks.

CCMS will require school uniforms for this school year. Below are the uniform requirements by grade:

  • Grade 6 - Gray polo/collared shirt and khaki pants
  • Grade 7 - Forest Green polo/collared shirt and khaki pants
  • Grade 8 - White polo/collared shirt and khaki pants
  • Masks are optional for all students and staff

Sweaters covering the uniform shirt should be the corresponding (same) color as their grade level polo/collared shirt or black. All sweaters must be plain free of graphics or logos. Hoodies are not permitted in the school building for safety reasons. Shoes must cover all areas of the foot. Flip flops, sandals, slides, Ugg slippers, and Crocs are prohibited in the school building. Students not adhering to the stipulations of the Uniform Policy will be placed in the Alternative Instructional Assignment class for the day or sent home.

Arrival and Dismissal:  The school hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. To ensure a safe and orderly arrival and dismissal, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Arrival: Students may begin arriving as early as 8 a.m. No student should arrive on school property before 8 a.m., as there is no adult supervision. Upon arrival, starting at 8 am, 8th Grade Students will wait in the Gymnasium, and 6th/7th Grade Students will remain in the Cafeteria until the school day officially begins. All students eating breakfast will do so in the Cafeteria. All students will be released to class at 8:15 a.m.
  • Dismissal: Dismissal begins at 3:10 p.m. All students must be picked up by 3:30 p.m.; they are a car/van rider. All walkers and car/van riders are to exit the rear doors of the building.
  • Bus Riders: The front driveway and front doors are reserved for riders to ensure a safe and orderly arrival and dismissal.
  • Early Dismissal: Early Dismissal of students ends at 2:45 p.m. To retrieve a student for Early Dismissal, you must be a Parent/Guardian recorded in the SchoolMAX system with proper identification (Picture Identification).

Meals (Breakfast/Lunch): Breakfast is available to all students and staff from 8 a.m. to 8:25 a.m. Students must be in line by 8:25 a.m. to receive breakfast. However, all students arriving on a late bus can receive breakfast. The school will provide breakfast to all students and staff free of cost. Below are the instructions for the Free and Reduced Lunch applications in English, Spanish, and French:
