Art Club Mural

TEAMWORK MADE THIS DREAM WORK!🎉

Shoutout to our After-School Art Club (4th graders) sponsored by Mr. Huff for this amazing piece inspired by African-American Heritage Month!

Principal McNeil tasked the Club with the goal of not just creating something for display, but to also teach the scholars how to manage a large scale mural from start to finish. The students had to consider composition, color choices, paint handling, and how to collaborate as a team to make everything come together successfully.

Principal McNeil and the Club also talked about the historical impact of the notable and influential African Americans featured, so they understood who they were painting and why they matter. It was a mix of art skills, teamwork, and learning about Black history.
