Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) will be administering the i-Ready Reading Diagnostic to all students in Grades 4 - 8. The i-Ready Reading Diagnostic is an online assessment that will help your student's teacher determine your student's needs, personalize their learning, and monitor progress throughout the school year in Reading/English Language Arts.
The window for administering the Spring Diagnostic is April 27, 2026 thru May 29, 2026. All students in grades 4 - 8 will take the i-Ready Reading Diagnostic during this window.
The i-Ready Reading Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts questions based on your child's responses. It is expected that your child will not be able to answer every question correctly. The i-Ready Reading Diagnostic is untimed, but most students complete the assessment in 45-60 minutes.
The results of the i-Ready Reading Diagnostic Assessment will be used by teachers and staff to implement and improve instructional practices. The purpose of this assessment is an instructional tool for teachers and no grade will be assigned.
