Environmental Summit Inspires Green Careers
PGCPS held its annual Student Environmental Alliance Summit featuring a powerful keynote address by U.S. Deputy Commerce Secretary Don Graves. Held in collaboration with Smithsonian Affiliations, the event inspired high school students to engage with environmental issues and explore career opportunities in the green sector.
The summit featured a variety of hands-on environmental activities and allowed students to engage with scientists and educators from the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center and Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute. Over 30 environmental organizations, including NOAA and the Natural Resources Defense Council, were present to offer information on internships, resources and community action.
