5 Ways Schools Brought Hispanic Heritage Month to Life!

Across PGCPS, students and staff honored Hispanic Heritage Month with creativity and community spirit! From music and dance to art and language, schools showcased the power of cultural celebration.

Brandywine Elementary School decked the halls for Hispanic Heritage Month, with colorful tributes to culture and history. Students and staff took part in a schoolwide door decorating contest, while multilingual learners created projects reflecting their heritage and traditions.

At Kenmoor Early Childhood Center, families and young learners filled the halls for a festive Hispanic Heritage Month parade, complete with flags, music, and joyful celebration.

Parkdale High School embraced the month through language, culture, and collaboration. The World Languages and English Language Development departments joined forces to highlight the beauty of bilingualism and the shared values of unity and pride.

Charles Carroll Middle School brought the energy with a celebration of rhythm and movement. Through dance and live music, students celebrated the diverse traditions and vibrant spirit of the Hispanic and Latino community.

At Stephen Decatur Middle School, art took center stage. Students explored the works of Hispanic artists and created pieces inspired by cultural traditions that continue to shape artistic expression around the world.
