The Class of 2026 at Bowie High School continues to demonstrate excellence across academics, athletics, arts, and service, earning an extraordinary $18,739,728 in scholarships and financial awards. This milestone reflects the dedication, talent, and determination of a graduating class making a lasting impact.
Leading the class in scholarship recognition, Posse Scholar Keira Dzati will attend Lewis & Clark College, continuing her academic journey at a nationally recognized institution.
Several students earned outstanding merit-based awards, including Madison Gentles, who received the Health Professional Legacy Scholarship worth $33,000 annually ($132,000 total), and Hayla Butler, who earned the Dean’s Scholarship to Loyola University Maryland valued at $37,000 per year ($148,000 total).
Class leadership and service also stood out, with Tristan Imanene, class president, earning more than $220,000 in scholarships and committing to Delaware State University, where he will pursue a professional degree and participate in Army ROTC.
In athletics, the Bulldogs achieved an outstanding year of competition and championships. The boys’ varsity baseball team captured the county championship, while the girls’ varsity basketball team secured both county and regional titles. Varsity cheerleaders earned 1st place and Grand Champions at the county championship, marking back-to-back county titles and advancing to the UCA National High School Championship. In track and field, Chavoye White recorded the longest triple jump in Maryland and is currently ranked 8th in the nation.
Additional individual athletic honors included Connor Matthews, who earned the county championship in singles tennis and placed 3rd in mixed doubles.
Academically, valedictorian Clayton Redmond was named a National Merit Scholar and will attend Liberty University on a full scholarship.
The Class of 2026 also excelled in dual enrollment and Career and Technical Education (CTE). Student Aniyah Cosbert completed 31 dual enrollment credits, while six students earned 15 or more credits. In the CCAP Culinary Competition, students earned multiple awards, including Skylar Martin ($11,500), Tatiana Montas ($5,000), Nicholas Taylor ($5,000), and Alexander Graves ($1,500).
In the arts, 15 seniors participated in the school’s High School Musical production, with Emily Gibbels serving as stage manager and Hayla Butler contributing as choreographer.
Service and leadership were equally strong, highlighted by Sophia Rivera, who completed more than 400 service-learning hours.
