Class of 2026 Highlights - Bladensburg High School
The Class of 2026 at Bladensburg High School continues to demonstrate outstanding achievement, with more than $26 Million in scholarships earned by the senior class.
Service and leadership remain a defining strength of this cohort, with several students surpassing 300 service learning hours, including Rossmary Carranza Fuentes, Assitan Dembele, Messi Nigus, and Hena Sultan.
Academic and scholarship accomplishments include:
- Messi Nigus, recipient of the prestigious University of Maryland, College Park Banneker/Key Scholarship (full ride)
- Victoria Adebisi, accepted to Princeton University
- Aniya Patterson, who competed in the National CCAP Cooking Competition and earned $4,500 in scholarships
Career and technical education pathways also shine this year, with students achieving professional certification and workforce readiness:
- Aaron Acero-Pedroza, Jerhemy Aguilar Flores, Aislynn Diaz, Skali Guzman-Saavedra, Allan Lainez, and Angel Palma are now fully licensed barbers
- Pedro Alvarenga, Jonadab Franco, Steven Arevalo, Elmer Martinez, Brenda Chavez, and Jef Mendez were awarded scholarships from the Foundation of Applied Construction Technology for Students (FACTS), ranging from $500–$1,000
