For Dr. LeTrecia Gloster, this work is deeply personal. As the Associate Superintendent of Prince George’s County Public Schools’ Innovation and Performance Area (IAPA), Dr. Gloster leads the district’s Innovation Zone with both purpose and passion — supporting the very schools and communities she once attended and led. Her journey has come full circle, now guiding an initiative designed to ensure PGCPS’ highest-need schools receive the strongest leadership, teaching, and support to drive results where they matter most. The Innovation and Performance Area supports Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) and Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI) schools across the district. Working across elementary, middle, and high schools, the IAPA team partners closely with principals, educators, families, and community organizations to strengthen instructional practice, improve school systems, and accelerate student achievement. The work is grounded in collaboration, data-informed decision-making, and shared responsibility for student success. |
Meet Dr. LeTrecia Gloster — leader of the district’s new Innovation and Performance Area — who is living her purpose by supporting the very schools she once attended and led. The Innovation Zone is designed to ensure our highest-need schools receive the strongest leaders and teachers, driving results where they matter most. |
Before winter break, Innovation and Performance Area principals gathered for a cluster meeting focused on strengthening instructional leadership and accelerating school improvement.

The session centered on ensuring school leaders are deeply grounded in the district’s priorities while remaining focused on the urgent, day-to-day work of improving teaching, learning, and outcomes for students in focus schools.
“Every time we come together, I leave better than when I arrived,” said Warren Tweedy, Principal at Andrew Jackson Academy. “Hearing how my colleagues are tackling similar challenges reminds me that we’re not in this work alone, and that collective learning is one of our greatest strengths.”
As the session closed, principals were challenged to lead with intentionality and purpose, ensuring that every classroom is a place of high-expertise teaching where every student experiences rigorous, engaging, and equitable instruction.
