Project Manager II

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Project Management Supervisor, coordinates and manages capital projects activities, including managing vendors, planning, design, bidding, construction, project closeout, change orders, and final inspection on assigned projects for new construction, renovations, and/or capital improvements to existing facilities. The incumbent shall manage the Architects/Engineers (A/E) as well as the Contractors working on the assigned projects. The incumbent shall work with the supervisors of the Departments of Maintenance and Plant Operations, Transportation, Food and Nutrition Services, Regional Offices, Purchasing and Supply Services, Safety Office, Environmental Office, and Information Technology, as well as Instructional departments to ensure that all requirements from these departments are met. The incumbent shall have familiarity with State and County requirements and regulations as well as jurisdictional requirements relevant to capital projects. This work is subject to review by the Project Management Supervisor and Project Manager III to meet the goals and objectives of the Department with quality of production as a top consideration.

Project Manager III

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Project Management Supervisor, coordinates and manages capital projects activities, including managing vendors, planning, design, bidding, construction, project closeout, change orders, and final inspection on assigned projects for new construction, renovations, and/or capital improvements to existing facilities. The Project Manager III will also supervise and coordinate the work of several project managers according to type or location, such as major modernizations or HVAC projects. Directly or indirectly through project managers, the incumbent shall manage the Architects/Engineers (A/E) as well as the Contractors working on the assigned projects. The incumbent shall work with the supervisors of the Departments of Maintenance and Plant Operations, Transportation, Food and Nutrition Services, Regional Offices, Purchasing and Supply Services, Safety Office, Environmental Office, and Information Technology, as well as Instructional departments to ensure that all requirements from these departments are met. The incumbent shall have familiarity with State and County requirements and regulations as well as jurisdictional requirements relevant to capital projects. The work is reviewed by the Project Management Supervisor to meet the goals and objectives of the Department with quality of production as a top consideration.

Planner II

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Capital Improvement Program Officer (CIP Officer), the Planner II will serve as the key planning professional in the Department of Capital Programs. The incumbent will primarily be responsible for coordinating activities related to the development of preliminary and final recommendations leading to Board actions on the annual updates and/or revisions to the Educational Facilities Master Plan (EFMP) and the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The Planner II will coordinate responses to queries regarding facilities planning data and proposals; prepare educational specifications; participate in Central Office and Board work sessions on the facilities plan and at meetings of community groups and of other jurisdictions and governmental agencies relative to the facilities plan.

Design Architect

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Capital Programs and/or the designated supervisor, the Design Architect will be actively involved in all phases of the planning and design process to include preliminary scope development through construction documents and construction administration. The incumbent for this position is responsible for the production, coordination and implementation of high-quality design documents to successfully renovate and construct new school facilities.
