Career and Technology Education: Advanced Technology Education, Technology Education, CTE Elective
This required course builds on students’ abilities in reading, writing, listening and speaking through exploration of the guiding ideas or themes in a variety of fiction (including novels) and non-fiction literature. Elements of literature will be studied to enhance analysis and comprehension of texts. Students will have reading and writing experiences, to include reading informational text; engage in reading, writing, speaking and listening activities that are based on the Maryland College and Career Readiness Standards; and have extensive opportunities to respond to selected response questions reflective of the format and content of the required English assessment. This course is designed to be a small class environment for students enrolled in a special education specialty program. The class will incorporate instructional practices and strategies based on student learning styles and individual needs.
