ESSA & Title I Department Summer Camps

ESSA & Title I Department Summer Camps
The ESSA & Title I Department offers a 4-week enrichment program that will immerse current 4th and 5th grade students in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics (STEAM).

Program Description

  • Block BOT Academy  - Building Our Tomorrow (current 5th graders):

This innovative program combines the creativity of LEGO building with the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM). Building on prior knowledge, students will learn about robotics, coding and engineering design using LEGO Spike Prime kits to solve tasks and design a better future. This new LEGO Robotics and STEM Summer Camp has been designed specifically for our rising 5th-grade students.  Throughout the 4-week camp, participants will engage in various activities and projects that emphasize teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration.  In addition to coding and robotics, this program will introduce students to self-reflection through journaling, responsibility and decision-making through SEL concepts and different career paths through Field Trips and guest speakers in related fields.  This blend of technical education and personal growth creates an enriching and enjoyable learning environment that prepares students for a wide range of opportunities and empowers them to make meaningful contributions to society.

  • Science Technology Aerospace and Math Program (STAMP) (current 4th graders):

The STAMP Program offers a unique summer enrichment opportunity for rising 5th-grade Title I students. Through an engaging and interactive curriculum focusing on science and technology, particularly in the fields of aerospace and engineering, students will embark on a journey to explore, learn, and create. Utilizing NASA's BEST curriculum, the program aims to ignite students' passion. In addition to science and technology, the program integrates journaling, creative arts, SEL concepts, and fitness activities throughout the day, providing a well-rounded experience for participants. Taking place over 4 weeks during the summer, from 8:30am to 2:30pm, Monday through Thursday, for a total of 16 days, each day is designed to be filled with hands-on activities that encompass science, technology, aerospace, mathematics (STAMP), and abstract STEM concepts. These activities are carefully crafted to connect with real-world experiences, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the subjects explored.
