Noemi Joachim
Eleanor Roosevelt High School
Cumulative GPA: 4.44
Noemi Joachim is a Science and Tech student at Eleanor Roosevelt High School.
She is the President of the National Honor Society, and member of the Lacrosse and Volleyball Teams.
Noemi has been accepted to several colleges to include University of Maryland College Park, Northeastern University, Stevens Institute of Technology, and UCLA. She plans to major in neuroscience, become an EMT and attend medical school.
Noemi volunteers at Odenton Volunteer Fire Company and enjoys talking with other volunteers about their experiences and learning about the inside of the ambulance. She plans to start EMT training at Anne Arundel Community College this summer and is looking forward to ride-alongs and becoming fully certified. She wanted to become an EMT to make meaningful contributions to her community.
For fun, Noemi enjoys running, shopping, cooking, sports, playing with her dogs, and spending time with friends and family.
Assiata Kamagate
Frederick Douglass High School

Assiata Kamagate, a student in the Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) program at Frederick Douglass High School, is eyeing a career in medicine.
She has already earned more than 50 college credits and will receive her Associate’s Degree in Applied Science along with her high school diploma next month through P-TECH. A Posse DC Scholar, she is headed to the University of Rochester this fall where she will major in brain and cognitive sciences as a pre-med major.
Not only is Assiata learning how to read, write and speak Korean, she is a self-taught visual motion graphic editor. She uses her skills to create projects that discuss many social issues such as gender discrimination and the effects of racial injustice on youth.
Her extracurricular activities include serving as president of the National Honor Society, captain of the Debate Team and a member of the varsity lacrosse team. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, learning new skills and watching medical-related dramas.
Justin Graves
Oxon Hill High School
Cumulative GPA: 4.08
Oxon Hill High School student Justin Graves is a video game enthusiast. He is the co-founder of a game development company and leads afterschool virtual game design classes at Oakland Elementary School.
Justin, a student in the Science and Technology Program, is a member of the National Honor Society and Robotics Team. He is also the NSBE Jr. Executive Board President for the Patriots Technology Training Center, a local nonprofit organization.
Justin enjoys building and upgrading computers, sculpting 3D models, creating animations, biking, running, filming and video editing, working out and naturally, playing video games.
He plans to major in computer engineering, software engineering or immersive media design.
Sophie Grace Tsanang-Tigoumo
DuVal High School
Cumulative GPA: 4.25
DuVal High School senior Sophie Grace Tsanang-Tigoumo is headed to the “Big Apple” this fall to attend Columbia University and major in biomedical engineering.
Sophie, a student in the Aerospace Program, participated as an intern in the ASPIRE Program at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab where she had the opportunity to explore STEM careers while completing projects, solving problems and learning crucial technical and interpersonal skills.
Her course load includes Advanced Placement classes in Psychology, World History, English Language, French, Computer Science A, Physics C: Mechanics, Chemistry, and English Literature.
She is an Ambassador for Young Women in Bio, a volunteer organization that encourages young women to explore opportunities in STEM, Debate Team manager and tutor. Sophie received an AP Scholar Award, was a QuestBridge Finalist, and won an award in the Prince George’s County History Day contest.
For fun, she enjoys watching the television show Criminal Minds, listening to music, riding her bicycle and getting plenty of rest.
Emerson Tiwang
Charles H. Flowers High School
Cumulative GPA: 4.35
Charles H. Flowers High School senior Emerson Tiwang has big dreams as he prepares for life after high school.
Emerson, a dual enrollment student at Prince George’s Community College, plans to major in computer science with a focus on artificial intelligence and hopes to launch a tech start-up focused on artificial intelligence and portfolio management. He also wants to start a nonprofit organization about youth financial literacy.
He has been accepted to several universities including Maryland, Ohio State, North Carolina A&T, Hampton, Pittsburgh, Fordham and Howard.
He is Principal’s Action Council President, Peer Forward Team Co-Captain, SAT Prep Coordinator for Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society, Boys Basketball Team Captain and a member of the National Honor, Spanish and English Societies.
Emerson is also a senior server at St. Joseph’s Church Altar Server Ministry, a tutor for the Maryland Umbrella Group and enjoys reading, baking, playing chess, lifting weights, watching Netflix and listening to music and podcasts.
Kelly Mouling
Gwynn Park High School
Cumulative GPA: 4.29
Gwynn Park High School senior Kelly Mouling is a young entrepreneur well on her way to success. She is the owner of Kelly’s Kouture, LLC, where she makes custom wigs for clients.
Kelly, a Dual Enrollment student at Prince George’s Community College, is taking courses in English, Spanish, Pre-Calculus and Business Law. As a junior, she took Advanced Placement World History I and scored a 5 on the exam.
A member of the National Honor Society and Student Government Association, she is also Senior Class President and a Peer Forward Leader. For fun, she enjoys playing golf, painting, yoga and trying new foods.
The future biology major aspires to be a dentist. Kelly has been accepted to 20 colleges and universities. She is leaning towards Norfolk State University, Hampton University or Xavier University of Louisiana.
