Under general direction, incumbent is responsible for providing supervision of all Safety and Security Investigators and Assistants, providing investigating assistance to them, conducting special investigations requested by the Department of Safety and Security Services and serving as the liaison with local law enforcement agencies and with senior members of the Prince George's County Public School staff; does related work as required. This is responsible, first line supervisory work in the accomplishment of safety and security policies and procedures of Prince George's County Public Schools and the Department of Safety and Security Services. The incumbent must be able to handle complicated and sensitive matters as to reflect favorably upon the school system. An employee in this class is subject to be called to work during weekends and after normal working hours.
>Provides field supervision for all Safety and Security Investigators and Assistants;
Furnishes security consultative services on current and recent investigations; may lead investigations or provide assistance to Safety and Security Investigators and Assistants;
Conducts special investigations as required by the Director or Coordinating Manager;
Provides supervision of contracted guard services utilized for evening programs;
Establishes and perpetuates point of contact liaison with local law enforcement agencies in order to facilitate communications and cooperation;
Serves as liaison with senior school system staff members; and
Performs other duties as required.
