Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Community Schools, the Program Coordinator – Community Schools will assist with coordinating, planning, managing and implementing the Community Schools strategy within the Office of Community Schools. The incumbent will assist with performing the technical work necessary to carry out data acquisition tasks associated with entering, updating and maintaining reports and will perform a wide range of strategic planning and analytical tasks in support of the Community Schools' strategy. The Program Coordinator is responsible for working with Community Schools personnel, both central office and school-based, to ensure departmental information management and reporting across the organization; specifically, supporting seamless communications internally, and effective communications with external stakeholders. The incumbent will coordinate and monitor activities to ensure compliance with the overall department’s strategic goals and will provide a high level of program awareness and tracking to inform the Director of trends and issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compiles and prepares information for reports required by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and/or federal government; assists in developing reports and communications with stakeholders as needed, including responses to requests for information;
- Utilizes data to make recommendations for improving the program and designing and monitoring programs for interventions and support;
- Coordinates and assists with the preparation and logistics of in-service and workshop activities; sets up workshops in the learning management platform, secures vendors, conducts post-activity evaluations and identifies next steps;
- Assists with and facilitates orientations, workshops and staff meetings, and assists with the use of technology-assisted instruction and other state-of-the-art technology in staff development activities;
- Collaborates with central office and school-based personnel to provide Community School Coordinators and administrators with resources to support the Community School strategy; connects wraparound services to the pillars of the strategic plan;
- Coordinates vendor fairs and events; creates and manages vendor evaluation tools to monitor vendor usage and identify preferred vendors;
- Collaborates with Community School Coordinators and school-based administrators to develop innovative ways to provide services and impact student achievement through the Community Schools strategy;
- Serves as a member of the Community Schools leadership team; participates in team meetings and provides progress reports on deliverables, milestones and the program schedule, and assists in determining the prioritization of actions that best support the department’s strategic goals;
- Reviews and assists in drafting internal policies and procedures for the department and coordinates publications and availability to staff; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of key concepts of data analysis, data collection and management, and continuous improvement processes;
- Ability to initiate correspondence and prepare professional reports;
- Ability to plan, implement and evaluate program activities, as well as develop effective work standards and schedules;
- A strong work ethic and flexible mindset, with the ability to pick up new skills and adapt to changing work requirements;
- Ability to communicate ideas in a simplified, easy-to-understand fashion to a variety of stakeholders;

- Knowledge of, and comfort with the Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
- Well-organized, detail oriented and attention to accuracy is critical; and
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks ongoing at the same time.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in data management, business administration, project management or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in program administration, project management, education and/or related activities required.
