Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Supervisor of Technology Training, the Technology Trainer will be responsible for training office, regional and school-based staff in the administrative use of technology and digital resources for professional productivity, including but not limited to, business and financial systems, substitute management systems and other related programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and supports information technology efforts for systemic technology-related initiatives;
- Conducts and examines needs assessments to design training programs that align with the skills required to utilize information technology systems;
- Designs and develops comprehensive training and reference materials using varied modalities to include video, interactives, online courses and other innovative job aids;
- Plans and delivers a variety of high quality training opportunities to support technology implementations through synchronous and asynchronous methods (one-on-one, small and large group sessions, phone and email support), and other modes and resources as deemed appropriate to meet the needs of end users;
- Supports planned sessions that may require flexible scheduling to include evenings and/or weekends when needed;
- Collaborates with schools and offices to ensure that training resources remain updated and align with PGCPS policies and processes;
- Assists and facilitates the efficient completion of internal processes;
- Assists central office staff with completing projects and scheduling training sessions;
- Evaluates and troubleshoots issues related to hardware, software and/or digital resources;
- Provides support for all information technology users; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge and skills in the area of technology, training, and/or instructional design;
- Thorough knowledge of information technology systems and processes;
- Demonstrated knowledge of curricular and instructional programs;
- Demonstrated ability in the use of emerging technologies to design, conduct and evaluate training and professional development;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to tailor training approach to meet the varied needs of the learner; and
- Ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required. A minimum of five (5) years of successful experience providing technology training/professional development preferred.
Certification:
None required.
