Notre Dame of Maryland University Special Education Dual-Certification Program
Resident Teachers in this program will complete pre-service training and graduate-level coursework over the summer to become classroom ready on day one. Additionally, these Resident Teachers complete rigorous coursework at Notre Dame of Maryland University which will lead to professional dual-certification and/or a Master’s Degree in Education. Participants will receive coaching support from a supervising teacher for the first quarter of the school year followed by high-quality mentoring support for the remainder of the two-year training program. Teach For America

Teach For America Resident Teachers complete a two-year training program starting as the teacher-of-record. Teach For America Resident Teachers complete pre-service training over the summer in Philadelphia while gaining classroom teaching experience. Additionally, these Resident Teachers complete rigorous coursework at John’s Hopkins University which will lead to professional certification and/or a Master’s Degree in Education. Participants will receive two years of high-quality mentoring support. Content areas for this program include:
