Dear Families,
Beginning in school year 2027–2028, a new elementary school facility will open to replace the former Woodmore Elementary School facility. The new facility is being constructed through the Blueprint Schools Program and will provide a modern educational facility for students in grades preK through 5th. The address for the new facility is 13250 Fairwood Pkwy, Bowie, MD 20720.
The attendance area for the new school is proposed as follows:
The area currently assigned to Woodmore Elementary School, AND the area currently assigned to Glenn Dale Elementary School that is located south of Route 450; including all sections of the Fairwood and Woodmore North subdivisions.

On Thursday, October 1, a meeting will be held at Glenn Dale Elementary School at 6:30 p.m. to gather community input on the proposed attendance area for the new school.
On October 15, the Board of Education will hold a Public Hearing on proposed attendance area changes. Information about providing testimony to the Board is available at https://tinyurl.com/ParticipatePGBOE. On October 22, 2026 the Board will hold a vote. If approved, the attendance area change will go into effect for the 2027–2028 school year.
Students attending Woodmore Elementary School based on an approved student transfer or the McKinney-Vento program will be permitted to enroll at the new school.
Students attending Glenn Dale Elementary who will be entering 5th grade will have the option to remain there for one year with parent-provided transportation.
