Project SEARCH - Joint Base Andrews

Joint Base Andrews Project SEARCH  is a partnership between Prince George's County Public Schools, Maryland, the Arc of Prince George's County, the Maryland Division of Rehabilitation Services and Joint Base Andrews. Project SEARCH combines classroom time with an opportunity to have three different internship experiences in a real world setting. This combination of instruction and immersion in the workplace setting prepares interns to learn the skills to obtain employment and meet employer expectations. Students are accepted to this program through an application and interview process.

Program Entrance Requirements

  • 19-21 years old
  • Enrolled in PGCPS and working toward a Certificate of Program Completion
  • Diagnosed with a Developmental Disability
  • Willing to participate in unpaid training
  • Able to maintain appropriate behavior and social skills
  • Independent with personal care including personal hygiene, eating, and grooming skills
  • Eligible for Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS)
  • Has applied for long term supports for Developmental Disability Administration (DDA)
