At Beltsville Academy we believe that when families and schools work together, students thrive!

As a Title I school, we provide programs, activities, and resources to help families stay engaged in their student's education. Our efforts align with Title I, Part A of ESSA and the PGCPS Parent & Family Engagement Policy.

Each year, we update our Parent & Family Engagement Plan with your input. This plan includes family events and ways to stay connected.
🔹 We value your feedback! Share your suggestions with us through email, surveys, or speaking with an administrator.
🔹 All families are welcome! Events and resources are available in multiple languages, with interpreter services upon request. To request language support please contact our school office at 301-572-0630.

Title I ESSA Guidelines for Building Parent Capacity:

  • Goal 1: Helping Families Understand Academics & Title I – We will explain what students are learning and what Title I means for your child.
  • Goal 2: Providing Helpful Resources – We Will share tools and materials to support learning at home.
  • Goal 3: Training School Staff on Family Engagement – Teachers and staff will learn ways to work closely with families to support student success.
  • Goal 4: Partnering with the Community – W will collaborate with local organizations to offer additional support for families.
  • Goal 5: Sharing Information Clearly – Important details will be provided in easy-to-understand language.
  • Goal 6: Ensuring Accessibility for All Families – We will offer interpretation services, childcare, and accommodations as needed.

👪Upcoming Parent & Family Events

To keep families informed, Beltsville Academy will host events with helpful information about Title I, academic expectations, and ways to track your child's progress. Before each event, we will share details through flyers and our school website. Meetings will be scheduled at different times to accommodate families, and childcare will be available.

Aug 19, 2025 School-Based Staff Training
Better Together: Elevating Family School Partnerships
(Required)
Staff will receive training on best practices for engaging parents to build a stronger relationship between the school and families and to improve student academic achievement. Staff will also be given an overview of the Schoolwide Title I Program inclusive of the School-Parent Compact and Parent & Family Engagement Plan.
Sept 2025 Title I Annual Meeting (Required) Parents will be given an overview of the Schoolwide Title I program, School Goals, and be provided the opportunity to give input into the annual Title I Budget, School Parent Compact and the Parent & Family Engagement Plan. Time will be allotted to ask questions and give feedback.
Sept/Oct 2025 Parent-Teacher Conferences
(Required)
Families will meet with their child's teacher (s) to learn about their child's academic progress and discuss strategies to help them achieve academic success. Families will also have an opportunity to provide feedback on the School Parent compact.
March 2026 Title I Parent Input Meeting
(Required)
Parents/Families will have the opportunity to provide input on how to use the parent portion of the Title I Budget to help revise the Parent and Family Engagement Plan for the upcoming school year. The school will collaborate/partner with parents to help review and revise the Parent and Family Engagement Plan and School Parent Compact.
May 2026 Transitional Parent Night
(Required for Elementary Schools & Academies)
Incoming Prekindergarten and Kindergarten families will receive academic information to prepare students for the upcoming school year.
