Dear Families,
I am writing to inform you about an incident at Buck Lodge Middle School.

We received information about a threat of violence made by a student on social media. Immediate action was taken by school administrators and local law enforcement to investigate and the threat was determined not to be credible. Although the threat was not credible, we want to clearly communicate with you about safety issues when they arise.

Providing students and staff with a safe, orderly environment is our top priority and all threats are taken seriously.

Please set aside time to discuss this incident with your child. Remind them of the serious consequences that can result from threats of violence, which may result in serious disciplinary actions, such as suspension or expulsion. Please also encourage your child to report any threats or suspicious objects on school grounds to a staff member or trusted adult.
