Dear Heather Hills Community,
It is with great enthusiasm and honor that I introduce myself as the new principal of Heather Hills Elementary School. I am delighted to join a school renowned for its dedication to nurturing the unique abilities and talents of our students. As an advocate for gifted and talented education, I am committed to fostering an
environment where every child can explore their potential and excel.
With a background in educational leadership and a passion for innovative teaching, I have had the privilege of working with diverse student populations and witnessing firsthand the transformative power of a tailored, challenging curriculum. My goal at Heather Hills is to build on the school’s strong foundation, ensuring that each student receives an enriched education that stimulates their intellectual curiosity, creativity, and love of learning.
I have been an active member of the Prince Georges’ County Public School District (PGCPS) for ten years, serving as a principal, assistant principal, instructional lead teacher (ILT), talented and gifted coordinator, classroom educator, and professional development facilitator.
Prior to relocating to Maryland, I worked as a classroom educator, curriculum writer, data coach, mentor teacher and gifted and talented advisory member in the Brandywine School District located in Wilmington, Delaware. I feel very fortunate to be expanding my educational journey at Heather Hills. Heather Hills is special and unique and I am proud to be a part of the community.
At Heather Hills, we believe that every child’s giftedness is unique, and it is our responsibility to provide the tools and opportunities they need to thrive. I am committed to collaborating with our talented teachers, supportive parents, and engaged community members to create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. Together, we will work towards continuous improvement, embracing innovative practices that support the academic, social, and emotional growth of our students. July 1 , 2024 , I will host a “Meet and Greet” to connect with students, staff members, parents and community members of Heather Hills Elementary School. I am hopeful you all will be able to join me as we begin our journey into an amazing school year.
