Welcome to the 2025–2026 School Year

Dear John H. Bayne Families,

Welcome to a new school year! I hope your summer was peaceful, fun, and full of good memories. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, I’m so glad you are part of our school community. Our theme this year is “Above and Beyond: Lifting Learners, Launching Leaders.” That means we will work hard to help every student grow and do their very best.Here are our goals for this school year:

• Reduce the number of students who miss 18 or more days by 11%
• Reduce bullying reports by 15%
• Raise math scores on the state test (MCAP) by 28.8%
• Raise reading scores on the state test (MCAP) by 21.4%
• Improve science scores on the state test (MISA) by 17%

These are big goals, but we can reach them if we work together—families, students, and staff. To help us stay connected, we will begin a Principal Conversation Series this fall. These will be in-person meetings where we can talk, listen, and grow together. The staff at John H. Bayne is ready to make this a great year. Bienvenidos al Año Escolar 2025–2026

Queridas familias de John H. Bayne,

¡Bienvenidos a un nuevo año escolar! Espero que su verano haya sido tranquilo, divertido y lleno de buenos recuerdos. Ya sea que regresen o estén con nosotros por primera vez, me alegra mucho que formen parte de nuestra comunidad escolar. Nuestro tema este año es “Más Allá: Elevando Estudiantes, Lanzando Líderes.” Eso significa que trabajaremos duro para ayudar a cada estudiante a crecer y dar lo mejor de sí.Estas son nuestras metas para este año escolar:

• Reducir en un 11% el número de estudiantes que faltan 18 días o más
• Reducir los reportes de acoso escolar en un 15%
• Aumentar los puntajes de matemáticas en el examen estatal (MCAP) en un 28.8%
• Aumentar los puntajes de lectura en el examen estatal (MCAP) en un 21.4%
• Mejorar los puntajes de ciencias en el examen estatal (MISA) en un 17%

Estas son metas grandes, pero podemos lograrlas si trabajamos juntos: familias, estudiantes y personal. Para mantenernos conectados, comenzaremos una Serie de Conversaciones con la Directora este otoño. Serán reuniones en persona para hablar, escuchar y avanzar juntos. El personal de John H. Bayne está listo para hacer de este un gran año. Gracias por confiar en nosotros y por ser parte de nuestra familia escolar.
