Greetings Rockledge Families,
I hope you and your family have enjoyed a wonderful, restful, and safe summer. As the new school year approaches, our staff is eagerly preparing to welcome our Roadrunners back to Rockledge Elementary. We are excited to partner with you for an outstanding year of learning, growth, and success.
Our theme for the 2026–2027 school year is: Belong. Grow. Achieve.
These three words represent the culture we are committed to building every day at Rockledge Elementary.
Belong – Every student, family, and staff member is welcomed, valued, respected, and connected.
Grow – Every child is encouraged to learn, challenge themselves, and become their very best academically, socially, and emotionally.
Achieve – Together, we celebrate effort, perseverance, and excellence as we work toward success for every student.
At Rockledge Elementary, we believe that strong partnerships between home and school are essential to student success. Your support, encouragement, and involvement make a tremendous difference in your child's educational journey. We encourage you to attend school events and to stay in communication with your child's teachers. We look forward to working alongside you throughout the school year.
It is essential that each parent activate their ParentVUE Account. Class assignments will be available on August 18th. Please verify that your contact information is current in ParentVUE to ensure you receive important school updates and communication throughout the year.
School Year Highlights
We are excited to welcome new and returning staff members to our Roadrunner Family and continue providing high-quality instruction in a safe, caring, and engaging learning environment.

- August 22nd – Back-to-School Bash (10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.) Charter Senior Living of Bowie is sponsoring this event @ 7600 Laurel-Bowie Road
- August 24th – Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten Orientation (8:30–9:30 a.m.)
- August 24th– Sneak-A-Peek for Grades 1–5 (10:00–11:00 a.m.) Meet your teacher and drop-off supplies.
- August 25th – First Day of School for Students
- September 6th - Labor Day (No School)
- September 9th - Back to School Night
As we begin this new school year, I encourage every member of our Rockledge community to embrace our theme by helping us create a school where everyone feels they belong, every day provides an opportunity to grow, and every child is empowered to achieve their fullest potential.
