Mrs. Spinks Retirement Letter

May 26, 2023

Dear Seabrook Elementary Parents & Community,

It has been my true pleasure serving as an Instructional Leader in Prince George’s County Public Schools for 38 years and 8 months. I began my career as a teacher, worked with students as a Professional School Counselor and Assistant Principal. On the administrative level, I worked as a Pupil Personnel Worker, Specialist at the Homeless & Neediest Kids Office and Area Office as an Instructional Specialist. My career in Prince George’s County Public Schools closes as the Principal of Seabrook Elementary for 14 years. Together we built the playground in the back of the school for the Seabrook students and our community. We have developed numerous partnerships that when we call on them for students and school needs, they come to our rescue without hesitation.

My ultimate accomplishment has been serving the Seabrook students, staff and parents these past years. The relationships that I have cultivated are priceless and will never be forgotten. I have thoroughly enjoyed classroom visits seeing education in action by our dedicated teachers. Observing students hard at work, collaborating with one another and advancing in their use of technology. The participation in successful parent conferences, where we together came up with solutions to resolve our student matters. It has been rewarding and I will cherish our memories. I will be retiring this summer. A new selected Principal will be appointed for the 2023-2024 school year. I wish the school all the success possible as they move forward in my absence. I have enjoyed every moment as the Seabrook Elementary School Principal.

If you have any questions regarding the new Principal selection process, feel free to contact Dr.Wanda Williams, Cluster 14, Instructional Director for the school at Wanda.Williams@pgcps.org.

Your Partner in Education Always,

Clareta Spinks

Principal
