DuVal High School Class of 2026 Celebrates Historic Scholarship Success and Student Achievement

The Class of 2026 at DuVal High School continues to set a powerful standard of excellence, earning an extraordinary $30,187,468 in scholarships and financial awards. This milestone reflects the dedication, talent, and perseverance of a class whose accomplishments span academics, athletics, arts, and service.

This year’s seniors earned acceptance to 313 colleges and universities across the United States and internationally, including institutions in China and Japan. Students will attend a wide range of prestigious colleges,
including Vanderbilt University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cornell University, Duke University, Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University, New York University (NYU), The Ohio State University, Penn State, Radford University, Tuskegee University, and the Culinary Institute of America.

DuVal seniors also earned   strong presence among Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), with 30 acceptances to institutions such as Howard University, Spelman College, Morehouse College, Bowie State University, North Carolina A&T State University, and Florida A&M University.

Among individual achievements, Kaitlin Rowe earned a full scholarship to Morgan State University, Joshua Njoki earned a full scholarship to Washington College, and Abdullahi Abiola earned a full scholarship to Capitol Technology University.

In the arts, STEM, and extracurricular programs, student excellence was on full display. Aiden Chee-Wah earned first place in the Lambda Gamma Gamma Talent Hunt at Flowers High School, showcasing outstanding artistic talent and creativity.

In athletics, the Lady Tigers soccer program earned recognition with multiple all-county honors. Senior captain Taryn Parker earned 2nd Team All-County honors, alongside teammate Ashley Reyes, who also earned 2nd Team All-County recognition.

Academic and service excellence were equally strong across the class. Adrien Sakyi was awarded the Senator Chris Van Hollen Service Award for more than 700 hours of community service, demonstrating exceptional commitment to leadership and civic engagement. Kaitlin Rowe was also recognized for receiving the Illuminate Your Black Brilliance STEM Award (November 2025), highlighting excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

In Career and Technical Education (CTE), several students earned Adobe Certification in Interactive Media Production, including Ogonna Azih, Becanti Goze, Sherlyn Ramos, and Lavaune Skeet, reflecting industry-level skills and workforce readiness.

The Class of 2026 at DuVal High School leaves behind a legacy of achievement, opportunity, and excellence across every pathway.
