We extend our sincere thanks to the more than 56,000 students, families, and staff members who shared their voices through the 2025–26 PGCPS Climate and Culture Survey. Your feedback matters, and it helps us understand what is working in our schools and where we need to improve.
Your responses are more than numbers. They guide our decisions and help shape the future of PGCPS.
Where We Are Thriving
We are encouraged by several positive trends across our district, and our educators are feeling more prepared than ever to support our diverse community.
- Instructional Excellence:
- 92% of instructional staff feel confident providing culturally responsive instruction.
- 88% feel confident supporting students’ social-emotional learning.
- Growing Family Engagement:
- 76% of families report regularly participating in school events.
- Sense of Belonging for Younger Students:
- 73% of students in grades 4–5 say they feel welcome at school.
These results show meaningful progress and reflect the dedication of our educators, families, and students.
Addressing Our Challenges with Transparency
True improvement requires facing hard truths. Your responses highlighted critical areas where we must do better:
Safety:
- 50% of students in grades 6–12 report feeling safe at school.
Bullying:
- 41% of secondary students and 56% of elementary students report bullying as a problem at their school. Harassment based on physical appearance was identified as the most common basis for bullying.
School Facilities:
- Students continue to express that our physical buildings need improvement. Only 39% of students in 6-12 grades believe their school is clean and well-maintained.
Our Commitment to Action
We hear you. These results will inform our next Strategic Plan, which will guide our district’s priorities and actions, and we will continue our commitment to:
- Strengthening school safety efforts
- Expanding targeted anti-bullying supports for students and staff
- Continuing to modernize and improve school facilities
- Using student, family, and staff feedback to guide decisions
Thank you for your honesty, your partnership, and for holding us accountable as we work together to build a stronger PGCPS.
