TAG Center

Our TAG Center is a school within a school. We have a full TAG Center implementation for grades 6th - 8th grades. Currently there are  239 students enrolled in our TAG Center in grades 6th - 8th grades. Students are clustered in core subjects: Reading English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Mathematics and are taught by trained TAG teachers.  97.4% of our TAG students score 4 and above on the MCAP assessment. Students participating in the TAG Center must be TAG identified and either (a) live within the Tasker zoned boundary, (b) are coming from Heather Hills Elementary School, or (c) receive a placement through the lottery. Earned EGATE in 2019 with 21 of 21 Possible Points. 

Community Referenced Intervention (CRI)

Students participate in life activities within the community that will prepare them for independent living after completion of their academic careers. Students will receive Certificates of Completion upon graduation

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination)

A college-readiness program designed to help students develop the skills they need to be successful in college. The program places special emphasis on growing writing, critical thinking, teamwork, organization and reading skills

Arts Integration

Arts is a creative way for students to connect with and demonstrate learning and understanding. Instruction at BTMS incorporated the arts across all contents to allow diverse learners opportunities to engage with new information.
