Media Arts

Media Arts Supply List

  • PGCPS issued ChromeBook
    • Current PGCPS policy also allows for a non-PGCPS ChromeBook to be used on the school network but this is by no means a requirement.
  • Headphones, Headset, or Earbuds that are compatible with the ChromeBook
    • The inclusion of a working microphone is great but not required.
    • While no specific brand/style is required (dollar store headphones can get the job done), Logitech is a respected brand that offers reasonably priced low and high end headsets.

Suggested (NOT REQUIRED) Supplies, Media Arts Majors Only

  • Camera capable of video and still photography
    • A ChromeBook can be used for this but a handheld camera is far less awkward.
    • The Media Arts Department has cameras in the classroom but a personal camera allows for recording outside of the school setting.
    • May be a cell phone, with parent permission.
    • For non-phone cameras, Nikon, Sony, Canon, Kodak, and Olympus are highly recommended brands, even if 2nd hand.
    • A screen that can flip around so the person on camera can see if they are in the shot is ideal.
  • External Hard Drive
    • Google Drive has significant storage capacity but data speeds are not always ideal.
    • "Thumb drives" are nice but have lower capacity for the price and are easier to misplace.
    • Please do not spend more than $25 if you purchase one of these.
    • USB 3 is ideal. USB-C is good if you have an adapter to older USB formats. (Not all school devices support USB-C.)
