Bonjour, Dora Kennedy French Immersion Community!

It is my honor to welcome you to Dora Kennedy French Immersion, a school community built on academic excellence, global citizenship, cultural appreciation, and a deep commitment to ensuring that every student thrives.

For more than 40 years, French Immersion has provided students in Prince George’s County with a unique opportunity to become bilingual, biliterate, and globally minded learners. At DKFI, we are proud of that rich legacy and equally excited about the future we are building together.

This year represents an important new chapter in our journey as we transition to our new home in Seabrook, Maryland. While our location may be changing, the heart of Dora Kennedy remains the same; our students, families, educators, traditions, and unwavering pursuit of excellence. Our theme, “Forward by Design,” aligns with Prince George’s County Public Schools’s Mission and reflects our commitment to approaching this transition intentionally, thoughtfully, and with a clear focus on what is best for our students.

As a school recognized for excellence by the Maryland State Department of Education, we understand that our accomplishments come from the collective efforts of an extraordinary community. Our teachers and staff provide rigorous instruction and meaningful learning experiences, our families remain active partners in the educational process, and our students continually demonstrate the curiosity, perseverance, and leadership that define a DKFI Cardinal.

As Principal, I believe our responsibility extends beyond academic achievement. We are preparing young people to communicate across cultures, think critically, lead with confidence, and understand their responsibility within an increasingly interconnected world. We remain committed to creating a school environment where every child is known, challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.
