Dear Largo High School Community,

I greet each of you with “Den Pride!” Welcome Back, Largo High School Community! I hope you and your family have enjoyed a safe, restful, and memorable summer filled with opportunities to relax, recharge, and spend time with those who matter most. It is with great excitement and optimism that I welcome you to the 2026-2027 school year at Largo High School!

As we begin another year together, we remain committed to providing an innovative, high-quality educational experience that prepares every student for success in college, careers, and life. Our vision is to empower lifelong learners and productive citizens who positively contribute to an ever-changing global society. Our mission is to create an inclusive community where every student is nurtured, engaged, and challenged to reach their fullest potential through the values of Leadership, Integrity, Optimism, and Nobility (L.I.O.N.)

Our work continues to align with Prince George's County Public Schools' strategic plan, “Forward By Design – Acceleration 2029,” which emphasizes student success, staff and leadership development, expanded access to programs, strong family and community partnerships, and a positive organizational culture. Together, these priorities guide every decision we make on behalf of our students.

This year's school theme is "Pride in Excellence!" Excellence is more than a slogan—it is our collective commitment to giving our very best every day. It reflects the district's vision of "Excellence everywhere! Every child. Every day." Achieving excellence requires all of us, including students, staff, families, and community partners, to work together in support of meaningful outcomes for every learner. At Largo, we believe that when expectations are high and relationships are strong, students thrive.

The 2026-2027 school year brings several exciting opportunities for our students and families. We are proud to welcome the fourth cohort of our Language Immersion Program, serving students in Spanish, French, and Chinese across all grade levels. We also begin our second year as a “Community School,” allowing us to expand resources and partnerships that support the academic, social, emotional, and wellness needs of our students and families.

We are also launching a redesigned “Ninth Grade Academy” that will provide incoming freshmen with intentional academic, social, and emotional support as they transition into high school. In every classroom, students will experience a renewed instructional focus that promotes collaboration, critical thinking, student engagement, and meaningful learning experiences designed to prepare them for future success.

Families are encouraged to stay actively involved in their child's education by using ParentVUE through the Synergy platform. ParentVUE provides access to grades, attendance, assignments, transcripts, graduation progress, emergency contact information, and Online Registration (OLR). Every family must complete the required Online Registration process before the school year begins. Additional information is available on the PGCPS website.

As a reminder, all secondary students are required to use clear book bags while on campus. Largo High School does not require school uniforms; however, students are expected to follow the Prince George's County Public Schools Dress Code in accordance with Administrative Procedure 5152. Additional information is available on our school website.

As we prepare to return to “The Den,” I cannot help but feel excited about the opportunities that await us. Every new school year represents fresh opportunities to build meaningful relationships, pursue ambitious goals, celebrate achievements, and grow together as one school community. I have full confidence that our students, staff, families, and community partners will continue to demonstrate what it means to have “Pride in Excellence” through their commitment, perseverance, and support of one another.

Thank you for entrusting us with your children and for partnering with us in their success. Together, we will continue building a school culture where every student is challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their potential.

I look forward to welcoming each of you back to Largo High School and sharing another year of learning and achievement.
