About the Largo Lions Choir

The Largo High School Choir is the vocal performing group of Largo High School in Prince George's County, Maryland. The choir includes students from grades 9 – 12. During Mr. Huh's tenure the choir continued to grow and performed at important venues such as the National Gallery of Art - Smithsonian Ingenuity Awards (in the presence of Stevie Wonder and Janelle Monae), Prince George's County Government and Prince George's Community College for multiple ceremonies.

Prior to Mr. Huh's leadership, Mr. Jeremiah Murphy led the choir for 24 years with the support of the school community and the local community. Under his leadership the choir had an opportunity to release their own recording entitled INSPIRATIONS. Their voices are also featured on a release of Evangelist Myrna Summers: His Mercy Endureth Forever.

The baton was then passed on to Mr. Brandon J. Felder from 2013-2017 and under his direction the choir continued to grow. During his time at Largo the choir was selected as a GRAMMY® Signature School Enterprise Award Semifinalist — the only school in the Washington Metropolitan Area to receive the honor.

The choir was fortunate to perform for the former First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton and surgeon Dr. Ben Carson at Children's National Medical Institute of Baltimore, MD. They have also shared the stage with several noted Gospel Artists like Anointed, Reverend Timothy Wright, Karen Clark Sheard, Tremaine Hawkins and Richard Smallwood.

Contributing to the success of the Largo High School Choir are their many talented and dedicated students. Faithfully, they serve as soloists, musicians and in many official clerical and support positions. The choir is grateful for the support of the Principal: Mrs. Kimberly Ford: other past principals: Dr. Afie Mirshah-Nayar, Dr. Angelique Simpson-Marcus, Mr. Gordon Sampson, Mr. Terrence Taylor, and Mr. Richmond Myrick; the Largo High School Choir Parents Association, and Largo’s administrative team, staff, students and parents.
