July 10, 2026

Dear Longfields Elementary School Families, I hope this message finds you enjoying a safe, restful, and joyful summer. While this is a time to relax and recharge, it is also important that our students continue to stay academically engaged.

At this point in the summer, students should be nearing the halfway mark in completing their assigned summer work. This includes either summer workbooks or TAG summer projects. Please note that all summer assignments will be graded and entered as a project/assessment in the Quarter 1 gradebook for the 2026 - 2027 school year. Your support in ensuring completion is greatly appreciated and will help set our students up for a strong start to the school year.

We will be sharing important updates soon regarding student orientation, schedules, and the first day of school. Please continue to check Class Dojo regularly for the latest information, announcements, and upcoming events.

We are also excited to offer volunteer opportunities for our former students entering Grade 6 and above. Students can assist with maintaining our front campus and organizing supply spaces at Longfields. If your child is interested, please contact the school. Thank you to the many former students who have already reached out. We appreciate your continued connection to Longfields!

School supply lists have already been distributed, so this is a great time to take advantage of summer sales as you prepare for the upcoming school year.

As you plan your schedules, we encourage families to consider ways to stay actively involved in our school community. We are seeking parent/guardian volunteers to support during recess and lunch duty, serve as room parents, and participate in small, manageable PTSA committees. Your time and partnership make a meaningful difference in the success of our students and school.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and vote of confidence in Longfields Elementary School.

Enjoy the remainder of your summer, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back soon!

Have fun,

Carmen L. Bell, Principal
